Creative with Computer
Creating a family logo with Microsoft Word is easy and can be very personal. Use your logo on your letterhead, notes to friends or anything that needs your name.Open Microsoft Word, Click on Start, All Programs, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word.Start by clicking on INSERT, WordArt, click on the first box on the upper left, change the font size to 16, type your last name, click on OK.Format your WordArt by clicking on it, click FORMAT, WordArt, click on Layout, Behind text, OK.Insert a background star by clicking on INSERT, Picture, AutoShapes, Stars and Banners, Explosion 1, (the very first star), click and drag to draw the Explosion. Format the AutoShape by clicking on it, click on FORMAT, AutoShape, click on Colors and Lines, click on Fill Color, Fill Effects, Two colors, now choose colors one lighter and one darker, click on from center under Shading Styles, OK.Move both item around until the WordArt is centered over the Explosion the way you want it to be. At this point, it does not matter where your logo is on the page, you will move it soon.Group the WordArt and the Explosion together by clicking on either item, then hold down the CTRL key and click on the other. Both WordArt and the Explosion should have little circles in a square abound them. Click on Draw, (located at the bottom left of your screen), (if the Drawing toolbar is not turned on, click on VIEW, Toolbars, Drawing), click on Group. Now click somewhere else in the document, this will turn off the logo.Tip the logo by clicking on it, click on Draw, Rotate or Flip, Free Rotate, click on any of the green dots to rotate your logo.Your new logo can be resized and moved anywhere on the page. You can also Copy and Paste to other documents.© Sharon Koss
